Witness Account: The Bat Swarm – A Terrifying Night in the Resin Armies Community

It was a night like no other, the kind of night that stays in your memories forever, etched into your mind as an experience too bizarre to forget. And yet, as the hours passed and the moon hung high over the Resin Armies community, something far more terrifying than any battlefield scenario I had ever encountered occurred. It was not a battle fought with swords, magic, or the clash of armor. It was the arrival of the Bat Swarm.

Before I go any further, let me set the scene. The Resin Armies community is a small but fiercely dedicated group of hobbyists and miniature enthusiasts. Most of us here focus on crafting, painting, and assembling 3D printed miniatures. The shop, known for its incredible array of highly detailed miniatures, has been my home for years. It’s not just a place to buy models—it’s a space where creativity thrives. We gather online to share tips, ideas, and showcase our work. I’ve always felt a deep connection to this community, where we celebrate not only the technical aspects of 3D printing but also the artistry that goes into crafting the perfect miniature.

However, on that fateful night, the world of Resin Armies was thrust into an unimaginable nightmare—a nightmare that no one could have prepared for.

The First Signs of the Bat Swarm

It began subtly, a low hum that filled the air. At first, I thought it was a distant echo, maybe from a nearby construction site. But then, the hum intensified, growing louder and faster, almost like the sound of a distant storm front approaching. As I stepped out of the workshop to investigate, the hairs on the back of my neck stood on end. Something was off. The night had taken on an eerie stillness, and the air itself felt heavy, charged with something unnatural.

It wasn’t until I heard the first shriek that I realized what was happening. It was a noise I’ll never forget—the kind of screech that sends a chill through your bones. A split second later, the swarm descended upon us. A thick, black cloud of bats, hundreds, if not thousands, of them, poured from the treetops, filling the sky like a moving, writhing mass.

The Bat Swarm.

At first, I thought they were just regular bats. But as they descended on us, I realized these creatures were different. Their wings were far larger than any bat I had ever seen before, spanning several feet, and their eyes glowed a deep, blood-red hue. They weren’t just ordinary creatures of the night—they were something darker, something born of nightmares. And their hunger was unlike anything I had ever witnessed.

The first wave of bats struck the outer walls of the Resin Armies community, causing chaos. The air was filled with frantic shouts and the sound of frantic footsteps as people scrambled to secure themselves. But the swarm was relentless. With terrifying speed, the creatures tore through the night, smashing into windows, clinging to walls, and creating a storm of leathery wings.

The Chaos Unfolds

I rushed inside, slamming the door behind me. The swarm’s shrieks echoed through the walls, a constant reminder of the terror unfolding outside. I could hear people shouting, urging others to retreat deeper into the building, away from the windows. But there was no escaping the Bat Swarm. The creatures had a purpose. It wasn’t just the destruction they caused—it was something far more sinister.

In the chaos, I witnessed something that still haunts me. A man I had known for years, one of the most skilled 3D miniature painters in the community, was overwhelmed by the swarm. I watched helplessly as the bats descended upon him. Their claws dug into his flesh, and within moments, his body was covered with them, his screams muffled by the chorus of the swarm.

I’m not sure how long it lasted. Time seemed to bend and warp in the presence of the Bat Swarm. Hours? Minutes? Or perhaps days? The panic and terror were so intense that it felt as though reality itself was warping. I remember grabbing my 3D printed miniatures and huddling beneath the worktable, trying to protect them as if they could somehow shield me from the chaos above.

I don’t know how the swarm found us. Maybe it was the community’s unique energy, a gathering of creativity that attracted the creatures. Or perhaps it was something darker—a force of nature set upon the world of Resin Armies. Whatever the reason, it felt like an invasion, an assault on the very heart of our community.

The Battle for Survival

As the night stretched on, the situation grew more desperate. We realized that we could not outrun the swarm. These creatures, fueled by an insatiable hunger, were relentless in their pursuit. It wasn’t just about survival anymore—it was about holding on to our sense of identity, our craft, and the creative spirit that had brought us together in the first place.

There was no strategy to defeating the swarm, at least not that we could see. The bats seemed impervious to our usual means of defense. We tried setting up barriers with 3D printed models, hoping to create a makeshift wall, but the swarm tore through them as though they were made of paper. Even our most durable miniatures—crafted with hours of care and precision—were no match for the unrelenting force of nature that had descended upon us.

In the midst of the chaos, something strange began to happen. The more we fought back, the stronger the swarm seemed to become. It was as though our resistance was feeding them, making them grow in size and power. But then, just when hope seemed lost, something miraculous occurred. A small group of us managed to regroup in the back of the shop, where we found an old, dusty tome hidden beneath a pile of forgotten 3D printed accessories. The book, ancient and brittle, contained strange runes and symbols. The markings were unlike anything I had ever seen, and as we began reading aloud, the air around us grew heavy.

The Bat Swarm, it seemed, was not of this world. The tome spoke of an ancient curse, a pact made long ago between the forces of darkness and a forgotten order. It was a pact that bound the Bat Swarm to the world of Resin Armies, calling them forth in times of great disturbance. The only way to banish them, the book suggested, was through a ritual—a ritual that required not only our physical strength but also our collective creativity.

The ritual, as strange as it seemed, involved using the power of our 3D printed miniatures. It wasn’t enough to simply create models; we needed to channel the energy within our craft to fight back the darkness. The more we focused on our miniatures, the more they seemed to glow with a strange power—an energy we hadn’t known existed before. It was as if the models themselves were alive, imbued with the very spirit of creation.

With renewed determination, we crafted makeshift weapons and shields, using our miniatures to form a circle of protection. The bats shrieked and writhed as they tried to break through, but the combined force of our will, focused through the very creations we had spent so many hours crafting, pushed them back. The creatures screeched in agony as they began to disintegrate, vanishing into the air like smoke in the wind.

It wasn’t easy. We lost many good people that night, and the memories of those who fell to the swarm will forever haunt me. But in the end, we succeeded. The Bat Swarm was banished, and the community of Resin Armies, though battered and broken, stood strong. The creative spirit had triumphed, and our love for 3D printing had saved us.

Aftermath

As the dust settled, I couldn’t help but reflect on the events of that night. The Bat Swarm was gone, but the experience had left its mark on us. The community had been tested, and in our darkest hour, it was our shared creativity that had brought us together. The very 3D printed miniatures we held so dear had become our salvation. They were more than just models—they were a symbol of our collective strength and ingenuity.

In the aftermath, I couldn’t help but marvel at the resilience of the Resin Armies community. We had faced an impossible threat, and yet, through unity and creativity, we had overcome it. It was a testament to the power of art, craftsmanship, and the bonds that connect us all.

I will never forget the night the Bat Swarm came, but I also won’t forget how we stood together, fighting back with the very tools that made us who we are.
