The Rampage of the Ogre Pigmen: A Witness Account
The rumble of hooves on the earth was the first warning. It came at the edge of the forest, a distant thunder that echoed across the fields like a storm stirring in the distance. I stood there, eyes squinting against the bright morning sun, trying to peer through the trees. But even before I saw them, I could hear them – the guttural snorts, the thundering footfalls, and the sickening clink of steel.
Then they came into view, crashing through the woods in a fury. At first, it was hard to tell exactly what I was seeing, as the trees shook and the ground beneath my boots trembled. But when the dust settled, the sight was unmistakable.
It was a squad of Ogre Pigmen.
These monstrous, terrifying beasts belonged to the Pigmen Army, a ruthless horde that plagues the Empire with an insatiable thirst for destruction. They are not your typical warriors, not by a long shot. Their appearance alone is enough to send most men fleeing for their lives. Towering well over seven feet, each one of them resembles a nightmarish blend of ogre and pig, with a grotesque, bloated body covered in tough, bristled hide. Their faces are wild and twisted, with pig-like snouts that grunt and sniff at the air, while beady eyes burn with malice.
But the most terrifying part of the Ogre Pigmen is their weapons.
Each member of the squad wields massive two-handed axes or mauls, weapons designed for destruction and carnage. The axes are broad and jagged, capable of cleaving through armor with ease, while the mauls are heavy, brutal weapons meant for pulverizing anything that stands in their way. As the squad approached, I saw the gleam of their weapons in the sunlight, each one stained with the blood of those who had fallen before them.
There were ten of them, moving as a unit, with a brutal, bone-crushing efficiency that was almost unnatural. They were built for destruction, and that’s exactly what they delivered. With each step, the Ogre Pigmen made the ground tremble beneath them, as though the earth itself feared their presence.
I had seen raiders before, but never anything like this. The Pigmen Army had many different kinds of soldiers, each more horrific than the last, but the Ogre Pigmen were a breed apart. There was an aura of pure savagery around them, a sense that they existed only to kill, to maim, and to burn everything in their path.
As the squad drew closer, I noticed the distinctive armor they wore. It wasn’t the finely crafted gear of the Empire’s finest soldiers; no, these were crude, pieced-together bits of metal and bone. Yet, somehow, their armor seemed to fit them perfectly, as though it was forged with one purpose in mind: to survive the chaos of battle. Thick, spiked shoulder plates jutted out from their massive frames, and their chests were protected by rough-hewn breastplates. Some of them wore masks—grotesque pig-like visages made from twisted metal—that only added to their terrifying appearance.
The squad’s leader, a hulking figure even among his own kin, stood at the forefront, his enormous battleaxe held high. He was a sight to behold, his body covered in scars and tattoos that told the tale of his many victories. His tusks, thick and sharp, protruded from his jaw, and his eyes burned with a manic gleam. It was clear from the way he carried himself that he was the one in charge. The others followed him without question, a tightly-knit unit of brute force and ruthless discipline.
The first village they came upon was doomed from the moment the Ogre Pigmen set foot in it. The people of that town had no chance. The Pigmen struck with the force of a thunderclap. The ground shook as the squad charged through the streets, their weapons swinging with terrifying accuracy. With each mighty swing of their axes and mauls, buildings collapsed, and walls crumbled. Nothing could stand in their way. The people screamed in terror, but it was no use. The Ogre Pigmen tore through the town like a tidal wave, leaving nothing but ruin and ashes in their wake.
I had a front-row seat to the chaos. From my perch atop a nearby hill, I watched as the Ogre Pigmen rampaged through the village. I saw them crush houses, slaughter soldiers, and drag screaming villagers into the heart of their destruction. It was madness. They moved with such speed and ferocity that it was impossible to track them individually. They were one unstoppable force, bound together by an unspoken understanding of death and bloodshed.
What stood out most to me, however, wasn’t just their savagery—it was their coordination. Despite their brutish appearance, these Ogre Pigmen were no mindless beasts. They fought with a terrifying sense of purpose, each blow delivered with precision, each swing of their weapons designed to maim and kill with ruthless efficiency. They didn’t just charge blindly into battle; they moved with a sense of strategy, tearing apart their enemies with methodical cruelty.
I saw one of them, a massive Pigman wielding a maul as big as a small tree, swing his weapon at a group of soldiers who tried to defend a barricade. With one crushing blow, the barricade was shattered, and the soldiers were sent flying in all directions. Another Pigman followed up with a wide swing of his axe, cleaving through the ranks of the Empire’s soldiers like a hot knife through butter. The soldiers stood no chance.
I could see the fear in their eyes, but it didn’t matter. The Ogre Pigmen didn’t care for fear. They were unstoppable. And even when the soldiers tried to retreat, the Pigmen were already on their heels, chasing them down, cutting them down without mercy. I watched as one of the squad members hoisted a young soldier into the air with a crushing grip, his fingers sinking into the man’s armor before snapping him like a twig.
The destruction was total. The village was a ruin within minutes, smoldering in the wake of the Ogre Pigmen’s rampage. The sounds of battle echoed across the plains, but soon they fell silent, replaced by the eerie stillness of death. The Pigmen had moved on, their warband carrying on their bloody march across the Empire.
In the aftermath, I ventured into the village, my heart heavy with the weight of what I had witnessed. The once-thriving settlement was now a charred husk, its buildings reduced to rubble. Bodies littered the streets, some barely recognizable after the brutal assault. The stench of blood hung heavy in the air, and the sound of distant cries reached my ears as survivors tried to make sense of the carnage.
The sight was harrowing, but as I wandered through the destruction, I found myself thinking of one thing: the Ogre Pigmen. They were not just mindless monsters; they were a deadly, organized fighting force, and they had left their mark on this world. The Empire would never forget the destruction they had wrought, and neither would anyone who had witnessed their savage wrath.
As I left the village, I couldn’t shake the feeling that this was only the beginning. The Pigmen Army was vast, and the Ogre Pigmen were but a small part of it. If these creatures could cause such devastation in a single raid, what would happen when the entire horde descended upon the Empire?
It was a sobering thought, one that left me with more questions than answers. But one thing was certain: the Empire was in grave danger. The Ogre Pigmen and their fellow warriors would not stop until they had taken everything.
And as I made my way back to the relative safety of the nearest town, I knew that I would never forget the image of those monstrous creatures and the havoc they had wrought. The Pigmen Army was a force to be reckoned with, and no matter how hard the Empire fought back, I had a sinking feeling that the Pigmen would never stop.
